P Diddy controversy
P. Diddy recently landed in a controversy when a video clip surfaced on social media. In the video, Sean “Diddy” Combs was seen shoving, kicking and dragging his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in what could be labeled as a horrific 2016 surveillance footage released last Friday. CNN revealed the video which is dated March 5, 2016 and depicted the rapper and producer going after the singer down a hallway at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
The video clip saw Diddy having a towel wrapped around his waist. He could be seen grabbing her by the back of the neck and tossing her to the floor. He held his towel closed with one hand and he went on to kick her. Diddy then grabbed a purse and suitcase from the floor near an elevator bank and turned around. He again started kicking Ventura as she remained down. Combs dragged his then-girlfriend by her sweatshirt before deciding to walk away.
Ventura slowly tried standing up and apparently picked up a house phone on the hallway wall. But Combs, still in his towel, returned and shoved her down. Moments later, he sat in a chair, grabbed an object from a table and threw it at Ventura as the footage showed. He walks away, only to turn toward Ventura yet again and continued attacking.
Apology
After denying the incident for years, Diddy recently admitted that he beat his ex-girlfriend Cassie in the hotel hallway in 2016 after CNN released a video clip of the brutal assault. He stated in a apology video that he was “truly sorry” and his actions were “inexcusable.” In the selfie-style apology video, Combs seemed to be low, wearing a T-shirt and appeared to be on a patio. It is the hip-hop star’s most direct response after six months of allegations that have threatened his reputation and career.
